A very fine brogue boot in walnut pebble grain calf leather, with a commando rubber sole. Skilfully made in Northamptonshire, England on Alfred Sargent's elegant 87 Last.
The commando sole gives good grip and weather protection for the worst weather, yet the rubber goodyear sole is overlayed onto a leather sole, whic allows the foot to breathe and the shoe to take the shape of the wearer over time. Being skilfully Goodyear Welted, the boots can be resoled when the time comes, without damaging the integrity of the upper. We will be happy to arrange this with Alfred Sargent on your behalf.
The rich colour of the Hannover is delveoped by Alfred Sargent through the combination of a number of different shades of wax polish. This burnishing process resembles antique wood and gives texture and depth to the appearance of the leather. With sparing use of different shades of brown, black, oxblood and even red polishes, this process can be continued over time and - combined with the patina that develops naturally from use - should only improve.
