With Pre-Order, you can purchase the latest items added to our store in advance of them arriving with us.

You Pre-Order is prioritised (at no additional charge); meaning that, as soon as the product arrives with us, we can wrap it straight back up and get it sent out to you - it often never even hits the stock room shelves!

Pre-Launch

With Pre-Launch, the date when we expect to receive the product ourselves is still a little too hazy to be confident in accepting Pre-Orders.

So, instead, you can submit your email address against the item you are interested in and we will email you as soon as stock arrives on the system.

Tripod Field Stool, English Ash, Brass & Leather, Lissom & Muster

£210.00

A three legged stool of English Ash wood, brass and vegetable-tanned leather. Useful for fieldsports, fishing, picnicking, eventing and sitting around the campfire.

When collapsed, the stool can be carried comfortably over the shoulder using the strong leather strap.

For the leather seat and strap we worked with Joseph Clayton of Chesterfield, Derbyshire - leather tanners since 1840. Their leathers originate from Northern Irish cow hide and are pit-tanned using natural vegetable tannins. This is an ancient process, essentially unchanged for thousands of years.

British materials, British Craftsmanship.  Nothing but timber, leather, brass and strong thread.

Part of a collaborative collection made by Lissom & Muster and British bag and leathergoods maker, CHERCHBI.

Maker

A collaboration between Lissom & Muster and Britain's best bag and leathergoods maker, Cherchbi.  Featuring some reworked classics from the Cherchbi archive, alongside entirely new products created for us. Our holdalls feature a combination of Cherchbi's grey Herdwyck No.10 tweed and dark brown leather - a colourway unique to Lissom & Muster.

Inspired by Britain's creative and cultural heritage, CHERCHBI craft bags, belts, hats and other good things in a robust, traditional, yet beautiful manner. Expect vegetable-tanned English saddle leather, Herdwick wool tweed, cotton canvas, solid brass and pewter - each element made in the British Isles with wonderful attention to detail.

Established in 2007, the company began with an idea to make bags using wool from the ancient rare-breed Herdwick sheep. Herdwick fleece is considered almost worthless and often burned, yet the breed has  a 1,000-year heritage and worthy reputation as Britain’s hardiest mountain sheep. After four years and nine weave trials this low value fleece was transformed by CHERCHBI into high quality cloth - Herdwyck No. 10: A new waterproof British tweed as robust as the Herdwick sheep itself.

WOOL:  Herdwyck No.10 is a pure wool, its colour and texture derived from the distinctive Herdwick fleece. It is spun, woven and finished entirely in the British Isles. The fleece originates in the English Lake District. The yarn is spun in Donegal, where the spinning process is slowed down to give the yarn greater strength. The cloth is woven in Wales, where extra picks added into the loom create an unusually dense weave. The cloth is bonded with natural rubber to a cotton lining in Lancashire. The result is a unique, naturally robust and waterproof Herdwick woollen tweed - Herdwyck No. 10.

LEATHER:   All CHERCHBI leathers have been developed with the help of Joseph Clayton of Chesterfield, Derbyshire - leather tanners since 1840. Their leathers originate from Northern Irish cow hide and are pit-tanned using vegetable tannins. This is an ancient process, essentially unchanged for thousands of years.  CHERCHBI use the original surface of the hide, or top-grain and retain any individual marks and creases. These little inconsistencies differentiate each hide and make each leather item unique. This is cut at 3mm, unusually thick for bags, and left unbacked so every aspect of the leather is visible.

METAL:  Brass and Pewter metal ware is cast and tooled in England. CHERCHBI use Swiss-made Riri zips, widely considered to be the finest quality zip available, as unfortunately no British zip makers exist.

COTTON: CHERCHBI'S cotton bag lining is sourced from a mill in Lancashire.

All bags are made entirely in Britain to a robust, traditional quality standard utilising traditional leatherwork and saddlery techniques. The combination of natural materials - waterproof Herdwyck No. 10 tweed, British saddle leather, brass hardware and 100% cotton lining - all age together harmoniously with use.
